Testimonials

Hope all is good with you. Thanks for the photos. Chester le Street golf course is looking and will soon be playing better. More light, air. Less ball-hunting.

Ken Brown - Member of 5 Ryder Cup teams.

From a member

‘A beautiful, varied, parkland golf course that offers great views across a historic landscape. This mature course is renowned for its well-maintained greens, challenging holes and friendly welcome’

John Cornish, Member since 1998.

From the 1908 Society

‘On behalf of myself and my fellow Golfers(this term is used lightly) could I thank you for the hospitality shown to us last Sunday. Not only have you a lovely golf course, in excellent condition, your staff are a credit to your members. The food at lunchtime was first class, prepared by two young ladies who know their stuff. All of us had a fantastic time and envy your members greatly.’

From a Visiting Party

Let me please give a big thank you to everyone involved in the running of Chester Le Street golf club. Cockton Hill Golf Society (Bishop Auckland) has been going 15 years now and this is the first time we have used CLS golf club but it certainly won’t be the last.

As the secretary of the society I would like to thank:

The Secretary - for enabling us to play and making the booking so straight forward (not like some North East courses)

The Catering and Bar Staff - the food was special and the service second to none, the young man behind the bar was very helpful and pleasant.

The Green Staff - the course was in excellent condition and the greens were just sublime – well done.

Last but not least to a handful of your members who were in the clubhouse, they made us very welcome and even gave us a couple of tips which should have shared with the whole group.

Members should be very proud of what I think is a little jewel in the North East area.

We will again be visiting because as secretary I did not get one negative comment about the whole day (this is a first for me).

Thank you and please keep up the good great work.
